A Historic Energy Agreement is Signed
The State of Hawai'i and the Hawaiian Electric Company signed a historic agreement
Monday, Oct. 20 that will accelerate transformative energy change for Hawai'i. This well-thought out blueprint will bring more clean energy to Hawaii's homes and businesses and expand opportunities for energy efficiency. Some issues addressed in the agreement include renewable energy commitments, inter-island cables, transportation, efficiency, feed-in-tariffs, net energy metering, decoupling of HECO's profits from kilowatt-hour sales and upgrading our outdated power grid.
This agreement is a leap toward our bright energy future, and we applaud all of those involved in the creation of the agreement.
