Jeffrey Mikulina, Executive Director

Jeffrey Mikulina was the Director of the Sierra Club, Hawai`i Chapter for the last 10 years. He served as the lobbyist and spokesperson for the organization that has a statewide membership of over 5,500. He earned a Masters of Science degree in engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign studying decision theory.  His accomplishments with the Sierra Club include passing legislation that sets a binding cap on Hawaii’s greenhouse gas emissions, requires returnable deposits on all beverage containers, provides incentives for renewable energy use, and increases the funding of natural resources through tourism taxes. Jeffrey has been awarded an EPA Region 9 Environmental Hero Award and the Honolulu Star-Bulletin ranked him among "10 Who Made a Difference" in 2005. In 2007 he received training from former Vice President Al Gore on The Climate Project presentation. Mikulina has served as Vice Chair of both the Honolulu Planning and Charter Commissions.

Becky Dunning, Program Director

Becky Dunning has over 20 years experience in non-profit management and administration in Hawaii. She served as the Administrative Director for Manoa Valley Theatre for 10 years, was Executive Director for the Hawaii Youth Symphony and most recently was Vice President of Development at PBS Hawaii, from 2000 until 2007.

Becky was born in Northern California, moved to Hawaii as a child, attended Punahou School and graduated from the University of Hawaii- Manoa.

Francois Rogers, Communications Director

Francois spent sixteen years with one of the largest Japanese wholesale travel agency, where he was responsible for marketing, sales and group travel. Francois was also the director of the highly successful Honolulu Festival for over nine years, where his responsibilities included everything from branding the event to overseeing all logistical elements. Francois will be leading the Blue Planet Festival's close cooperation and involvement with Hawaii's visitor industry, including developing marketing, sales and travel package strategies for key geographic markets, especially Japan and the US Mainland.

Julie Rogers, Community Relations Director

Julie Rogers has a dual degree in Biology and Biomedical Engineering. She has worked in the DNA Sequencing lab at the Broad Institute - a research collaboration of MIT, Harvard and its affiliated hospitals, and the Whitehead Institute. After years of work in the lab, she realized her interests lie outside of the lab - in our environment. She moved to Hawaii in 2005 to live closer to her family and worked as an environmental consultant at Environmental Science International.

Julie was born in Japan, moved to Hawaii as a child and moved several times since between Japan and the mainland U.S.. She graduated with a B.S. from Tufts University in Boston, MA.

Rae Tom, Finance Officer

Rae Tom spent 15 years at Louis Vuitton Hawaii where she was Director of Business Planning and Control. Ms. Tom is a Certified Public Accountant and the Managing Member of RT Advisory Group LLC which specializes in Business Planning Services and Tax Consulting. Ms. Tom holds a Bachelor of business administration degree and a Masters of Accounting degree from the University of Hawaii.
